HMAS Tobruk was damaged beyond economical repair whilst on gunnery exercise with her sister ship HMAS Anzac.
She was hit by a miss aimed shot / salvo from HMAS Anzac whose director equipment had not allowed for a standard 6 deg "aim - off".
