Thanks also to Mr. Robert Rutter whose Grandfather was CO. of this ship under the "Lend-Lease" programme. Perhaps the caption on photo 2 could be completed to read ...... "Now we'll see how things should be done !!"...... It turns out that "Things certainly were done" as we "Limeys" managed to sink her by opening her bow doors whilst under weigh. The old RN maxim still holds true then, if you are going to have a "Cock-up" at least have a proper one.
