"River" class Patrol Ships.

In these times of "Government Inflicted Austerity" wouldn't it make more sense to build more of these style of ships ?.
Rather than concentrating on "Aircraft Carriers" with no planes to fly off them, or "Multi Billion £" Type 45 Destroyers,
building a slightly larger and up-armed version of these, with a reasonable 3" or 4" gun,
making them all "helicopter capable", and able to carry a Royal Marine detachment,
would provide much needed work for "British" yards, a fairly capable medium sized warship,
and result in a "Royal Navy" that just might have more ships than "Admirals".
